Most store-bought syrups, no matter how simple or how exotic the flavor may be, add corn starch, corn syrup or cellulous gum for thickening.  Many also incorporate water, as well as flavor or juice concentrates.

Making syrup the old-fashioned way is truly a labor of love.  Our syrups are small-batched and the “cooking down” process requires hours of close observation to ensure the syrup remains at a constant temperature during the thickening process.
